THUNDER BAY – Five new cases of COVID-19 have been uncovered in the District of Thunder Bay.
The new cases, all considered to reside in Thunder Bay and surrounding areas, bring the region’s active total to 45, one more than announced on Tuesday.
All five cases are considered to be close contact exposures.
There have now been 3,124 COVID-19 cases in Thunder Bay District since the pandemic began, with 3,017 considered resolved and 62 deaths. There have been 2,775 cases tied to Thunder Bay and surrounding communities, 172 in district communities and 159 on area First Nations.
The seven-day, per-100,000 case count is 28.68, the same as it’s been for three days running.
There were no new variants of concern cases announced on Wednesday.
