Ottawa Public Health is reporting five new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, with no new deaths.

This brings the total number of cases to 27,676 and deaths to 591 since the pandemic began.
OPH is aware of 76 actives cases.
Three Ottawans are in hospital and there are no patients with COVID-19 symptoms in ICU.
The agency report a total of 7,681 cases of variants of concern, with 86 deaths related to the VOCs. About 86 per cent of the cases are of the Alpha variant, first identified in the U.K. There have been 73 confirmed cases of the Delta variant, first identified in India. No deaths have been attributed to the Delta variant in Ottawa.
There is one ongoing outbreak in each of the health care and child care categories, while there are two ongoing outbreaks in community settings: one in a hotel or B&B and another in a retail establishment.

In closely watched indicators, the seven-day incidence measure per 100,000 residents is 5.8, while positivity in testing is an average 0.7 per cent. The productive number, which measures how many an infected person can infect is 0.89, which indicates the virus is receding.
According to the OPH vaccination dashboard, there are 728,185 people 12 years old and over, or 79 per cent of that population. who have received a first shot of vaccine, while 302,943, or 33 per cent of the population, have received a second shot (completely vaccinated).
The province did not released COVID-19 statistics on Canada Day. The statistics will be released on Friday.
