Peel police have laid dozens of charges against five people for allegedly kidnapping and confining a man in Brampton.
The victim managed to escape and contact police on Thursday evening to report he had been held in a house for a number of days.
The police located the suspects, who barricaded themselves in the home. Various police units were called in to apprehend the suspects safely.
Five occupants of the home were eventually arrested.
A search warrant of the home produced firearms, adding to the list of charges against the five suspects.
Preston Gunner, Anna Leblanc, Shannon Rasanayagam, Evans Casmir and Stevens Estimable are charged with kidnapping, forcible confinement, possession of a weapon, among other charges.
All five appeared at the Ontario Court of Jusice in Brampton on Friday.
