Mink farms capped, no new farms in B.C.

A provincial health officer issued an order for all mink-farm operators in British Columbia after two mink tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19 in humans.

The order goes into effect immediately, capping numbers on existing mink farms and placing a moratorium on new mink farms in the province.

The Province says it is reviewing its policies and regulations around fur farms.
