Five people arrested in Hinton drug bust: RCMP - Edmonton Journal

After a two-week long investigation, RCMP say they arrested five people and charged four with drug trafficking.

In a Thursday news release, police said they seized 56 grams of methamphetamine, 44 grams of cocaine and 0.5 grams of fentanyl during the investigation that ended with arrests on July 29 and 30, and charges to four people who are scheduled to appear in court in Hinton.

Kirk Bennett, 37, is facing multiple charges, including trafficking methamphetamine and cocaine and the possession of a prohibited weapon.

Jerod Lee Rudrum, 40, is facing charges for trafficking fentanyl and trafficking methamphetamine. He has been released from custody.

Angel Louise Poiron, 42, is facing charges for trafficking methamphetamine and possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine.

John Greene, 40, is facing charges for trafficking methamphetamine and trafficking cocaine.

Bennett and Greene are scheduled to appear in court in Hinton on Aug. 18. Rudrum and Poiron are scheduled to appear on Sept. 1.

Police said charges are also pending against a 27-year-old woman, whose name may be released later pending further investigation.

Hinton RCMP, Edson RCMP, the Mounties police dog services and Grande Prairie’s Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team made the arrests.
