Five Things to Know: Longwood - UNCWsports.com

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Coach Aidan Heaney and the UNCW men's soccer team finish up their quick two-game homestand on Saturday, Sept. 18, when the Seahawks welcome Longwood to the UNCW Soccer Stadium for a 6 p.m. non-conference contest.
 
Saturday's game may be seen online via FloFC.com (subscription required) with Jim Whitmeyer and Tom Lamont calling the action. In addition, live stats will be available at UNCWStats.com.
 
UNCW dropped to 3-2-0 on the season after suffering its second straight setback with a 3-1 decision against Charlotte on Tuesday night. Graduate student forward Nicolas Molina tallied his team-leading third goal of the season with a penalty kick conversion in the first half, but the Seahawks were unable to overcome an early 2-0 deficit.
 
Molina has tallied three of the Seahawks' six goals this season while junior goalkeeper Gabriel Perrotta has started all five games, posting a 1.19 goals against average with a .739 save percentage.
 
Longwood brings a 1-3-1 record and a three-game winless streak into Saturday's affair in the Port City after falling at Navy, 2-0, on Tuesday night. All three of the Lancers' losses have been in shutout fashion.
 
Markus Gronli has tallied two of the Lancers' four goals so far this season, netting both of his markers in a 3-3 tie last Saturday against American. Goalkeeper Jacob Reimers has started all five games and has a 1.74 goals against average with a .652 save percentage.  
 
FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
Marching Two by Two – UNCW has won both previous meetings against Longwood by 2-0 margins.  
 
View From the Top – Junior goalkeeper Gabriel Perrotta moved into the top spot on UNCW's career goals against average list after reaching the 3,000-minute mark on Tuesday night. The Asuncion, Paraguay, product has fashioned a 0.87 goals against average in 32 starts as the Seahawks' netminder.   
 
Bagel Bites – Junior goalkeeper Gabriel Perrotta ranks 18th among active NCAA Division I players with 16 career shutouts through games of Sept. 15.  
 
On The Spot – Graduate student forward Nicolas Molina is the first UNCW player to convert multiple penalty kick attempts in the same season since David Lozano went 2-for-2 in 2018.  
 
All Good Things Come to an End UNCW had its five-game home win streak halted with Tuesday's loss to Charlotte. The Seahawks outscored their opponents, 8-0, during the streak.
