Five boat shows cancelled in 2022 >> Scuttlebutt Sailing News - Scuttlebutt Sailing News

The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), which seeks to be leading trade association in the United States that represents the marine industry recreational boating industry, has pulled the handbrake on five of their boat shows in 2022.

The NMMA explains this was due to “unique needs and economics of each region spanning date availability to supply chain disruptions to historically low market-specific boat inventory.” The cancelled shows are in Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Nashville, and St. Louis.

“Unprecedented market conditions are forcing event producers around the world to be more nimble than ever, all while providing an opportunity to connect with attendees in new, more relevant ways and NMMA is no exception,” said Frank Hugelmeyer, NMMA president. “These announcements come at a time when we’re experiencing extraordinary levels of consumer interest in boating and our shows amid product scarcity.”

NMMA’s 2022 revised schedule:
January 20-23 – Minneapolis, MN
January 20-23 – St. Petersburg, FL
January 26-30 – Louisville Boat, KY
January 26-30 – New York, NY
February 16-20 – Miami, FL
February 16-20 – Boston, MA
March 2-6 – Atlantic City, NJ
March 10-13 – Minneapolis, MN
Spring – Lake Lanier, GA
May 11-13 – Washington, D.C.
