Omicron variant spreads over weekend

Five cases of the Omicron variant have been identified in British Columbia. Three cases were identified in Vancouver Coastal Health and two in Fraser Health.

Dr. Bonnie Henry said the cases have been mild, and nobody has required hospitalization.

Henry suspects there are a number of new cases pending, likely to be the Omicron variant.

Of the five cases, three were fully vaccinated with three different combinations. The other two cases, according to Dr. Henry, were in unvaccinated British Columbians.
