Man City: Ederson signs new five-year contract - The Athletic

Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has signed a new five-year contract.

The Brazilian arrived at the Etihad Stadium in June 2017 for £35 million and has now penned fresh terms until the summer of 2026. Ederson's previous contract ran out in 2025, but City have moved to secure a longer commitment.

City have already signed a number of their senior players to new contracts this year, including Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Ruben Dias and Fernandinho.

Ederson has made 195 appearances for City since joining the club from Benfica. He has kept 95 clean sheets in that time, won the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup and Community Shield and picked up the Premier League Golden Gloves award.

“This was an easy decision for me,” he said. “There is nowhere else I’d want to be.

“To be part of one of the best squads in world football and to compete for trophies year in year out is what every footballer wants, and that is the opportunity you’re given at City.

“We have an outstanding manager. Working with him has been one of the great experiences of my career and I am a better player for it.

“We have achieved so much in the last four years, and I am confident we can continue to bring more success to the club in the coming seasons.”
